YouSpots is run by Skaters for Skaters, by Longboarders for Longboarders, by Snowboarders for Snowboarders and by Freeborders for Freeborders. We have built this project out of love and enthusiasm and the appreciation and thanks we get from our followers and users is worth more than anything. Yet there is ample opportunity to make this project financially viable.
The vision that we share for YouSpots never fails to to excite people when we talk about it and we seem to have discovered a market niche with incredible potential for the future growth of action sports industries. We would like to grow and expand, make this service better for us and our users and we would like to tell every single soul on this planet to get involved in order to unleash the full potential of what we have built. We rely on the support, enthusiasm and participation of our team, the people that help us out and the whole world of action sports so everybody can get the most out YouSpots. However, to realize this potential, we will need either money or lots of people working for the love of it. We registered as a company to be able to create a regular income and pay people for the time they invest in the near future.
YouSpots is not your usual company. It is a project driven by love, friendship and intrinsic motivation. Nobody has yet seen any money and we have been happy to work knowing that we do the right thing and a simple "Good job guys, this is f***ing amazing!". The connections and friendships we formed along the way, the experience we gained that went into our CVs and couches to crash on in pretty much every country we travel to motivate us to go on. The plan is to pay people once we get the opportunity to do so. Concrete plans are being realized as you read this and we think it's just a matter of a few months until money is flowing and we can make a dream come reality: Getting paid for something we love doing.

To realize all the features we have in the pipeline, completing the iPhone app and working on improvements to process and functionality, we will need a dedicated team of programmers and coders. In today's world, design makes half of every product or service. At YouSpots we realized this early and our head designer Leo has been working hard to develop a cutting edge look for the site. Social Media Experts
Most of YouSpots' hype has been created by word of mouth and the team's involvement in their local scenes. A few forum posts and some targeted promotion has resulted in over 100.000 unique users sharing over 5000 spots within the first year. Our Facebook page now has over 1000 likes, Twitter has been involved from the beginning and we started to build a presence on Pinterest recently. However, we need people who actually know what they are doing and are able to manage these platforms effectively or act in a consulting role and give advice to dedicated members of the team. Marketing Experts
We want to get the word out to the whole world of action sports so that we can achieve what we set out to do. We have a strong vision that tends to excite people and we have seen some great success in spreading the stoke and getting people involved. However, we are far from being marketing experts and don't yet have the funds to hire highly capable people to do the job for us. What we have is an amazing service, good design, great growth statistics, a string vision, a market niche, a core target audience with each sport as well as highly promising opportunities to enter a mainstream market without losing the focus on our core audience. We know where our strengths are, are highly motivated and we have not only a free service with excellent marketing opportunities but also a product to sell.
